Nierównowagowe procesy w układach nadciekłych: jądrach atomowych i kwantowych gazach fermionowych
2015.12.07 10:03 - adminPrzedstawię rozszerzenie teorii funkcjonału gęstości energii do opisu zjawisk nierównowagowych w nadciekłych układach fermionów: jąder atomowych i ultra-zimnych gazów atomowych. Omówię zalety i ograniczenia tego podejścia opartego na ewolucji czasowej funkcjonału gęstości energii. W szczególności zaprezentuję zastosowania do badania reakcji jądrowych, wymuszonego rozszczepienia jądra, oraz generacji i oddziaływania wirów kwantowych.

Maximally entangled states, holographic codes and toy models of the bulk-boundary correspondence
2015.11.18 6:47 - adminBell states are known to be maximally entangled among all two-qubit states, as the partial trace is maximally mixed. For four-qubit system there is no state, such that any of its two-party reduction, with respect to any possible splitting, is maximally mixed. We show that such states exist for four qutrits and discuss existence of such absolutely maximally entangled states in multipartite systems. Such states correspond to ’perfect tensors’ or multi-unitary matrices, i. e. unitary matrices, which remain unitary after certain reordering of their elements.

The Nobel Prize in Physics 2015: discovery of neutrino oscillations
2015.10.19 11:56 - adminThe Nobel Prize in Physics 2015 was awarded jointly to Takaaki Kajita and Arthur B. McDonald "for the discovery of neutrino oscillations, which shows that neutrinos have mass". In my seminar I will present the history of neutrino oscillation measurements and two experiments (led by the two laureates) that made the actual discovery: Super-Kamiokande in Japan and SNO in Canada. Current status of neutrino oscillation physics and Polish involvement in this field will also be presented.

FAST QUANTUM SEARCH OF REAL DATABASES

A fast quantum search algorithm for searching real databases is proposed.
The algorithm uses Grover’s algorithm and a realization of quantum memory.
The solution of the problem is given in the language of quantum circuits.

FLAVOR OF SUPERSYMMETRY

We discuss the most general flavor structure of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. We review the experimental constraints on the magnitude of flavor-violating supersymmetric parameters, both in the squark and in the slepton sectors. We finally present examples of how a non-trivial flavor structure of the MSSM can affect Higgs physics, Yukawa coupling unification and direct SUSY searches at the LHC.
